Bengali Online aims to create an archive of public domain Bengali literature accessible through the internet. The concept is similar to that of Project Gutenberg. The contents of the archive are organised in a hierarchy, and are available in the following three formats:

Nested

Consists of static HTML pages, with one per directory

Dynamic

Allows interactive navigation. Content is displayed in same page using AJAX.

Flat

A static HTML page with links to all documents in the archive

Requirements

To view documents in the Archive, you need a Unicode opentype font that covers Bengali and a Web browser capable of rendering opentype. A discussion of the levels of support currently available in various operating systems and browsers can be found here.
